Energy Cost Calculator (for Restaurants)

Thinking of setting up a food business and need to know how much you’ll be paying for energy? We’ve built this handy calculator to help. Just fill in the info and it will show you your monthly gas and electric estimates.

Not sure what to put in the calculator? Don’t worry – just leave the default value as it should be close enough as a rough guide.

Super Simple Restaurant Energy Cost Calculator

Estimate your monthly energy bill before you open. Enter tariffs, operating hours, and the equipment you’ll run. Values are editable.

1) Tariffs

We use your unit rates to price the energy consumed by your appliances and front-of-house. Standing charges are added for a 30-day month.

Standing charge: a fixed daily fee from your supplier to keep you connected, charged regardless of how much energy you use.

2) Operating hours

We multiply these hours by each appliance’s power to estimate daily and monthly energy use, then price it using your tariffs.

3) Front of house

Covers lighting, signage, POS, and small electrics during open hours. We estimate a load from your venue size—you can adjust the kW.

4) Equipment

Choose the appliances for your kitchen.
